Sensory-friendly, accessible, and low-pressure inclusive school holiday activities for families in Adelaide.
Helping families find school holiday options that actually work.
Hi, I’m Marcal, mum to a beautifully autistic PDAer and someone who’s been through enough school holiday activity planning to know just how overwhelming it can be.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve opened up “What’s On” guides and felt hopeful at first… then quickly deflated. Because once again, there’s a long list of events but no information on what actually matters. No mention of sensory supports, no notes about group sizes, no way to tell if it’s going to be a good fit — just vague words like “fun for all” or “everyone welcome.”
As a parent, that doesn’t help me decide. It just makes me feel more alone in the planning.
So I created this guide for families like mine — families with support needs in the mix, who just want real information so we can make confident choices (without having to make a hundred phone calls).
How this guide works:
Every activity listed here includes key info around access and inclusion. We ask providers to fill out what supports they offer using our Inclusive Aspects Checklist, so you can see things like:
Step free access
Accessible bathrooms
Smaller group sizes
Sensory friendly sessions
Quiet spaces
Visual supports
Whether it’s structured or self-paced
And more
It won’t be a perfect fit for every family, and not every activity will meet every need — but that’s not the goal. The goal is for you to be able to look through this guide and see enough detail to decide what might actually work for your child.
When are the July 2025 school holidays?
In South Australia, the July school holidays run from Monday 7 July through to Friday 18 July.
If you’re planning a structured activity, a quiet day out, or something last-minute and low-key, I’ve included a mix below. You’ll find both inclusive listings from providers who’ve shared what supports they offer, and a few calm classics that families come back to again and again.
